Your chances of being caught speeding in a year are about 20%. In other words, you have a one in five chance of getting a ticket this year. The odds are against you every time you hit the road. That’s because everyone violates the traffic laws, even the police. If you are going one mile over the limit, you are breaking the law. Remember, it’s a limit, not a minimum. If you get pulled over, be polite and do whatever the officer tells you to do and don’t argue. Sign the ticket and then call the traffic ticket team to fight it. The good news for you is that we get 99% of our tickets resolved with no points or school.

After running red lights, running stop signs cause the most deaths from traffic infractions. Traffic Tickets for running stop signs are also very common and we handle tens of thousands of these types of tickets. A lot of people tell me that they almost stopped, that they rolled through the stop sign at like one mile per hour. This is also called a California stop for some reason, but it’s all still a violation of the law. Avoiding a stop sign ticket is easy, just make a full stop. In other words, your forward motion must stop at least for an instance.

A Sunpass violation will add three points to your drivers license so do not just pay that ticket when it comes in the mail. We have fought thousands of these ticket and have a 99% success rate in keeping Sunpass violation tickets from putting points on our clients licenses. In other words, Sunpass tickets can make your car insurance go up just like a DUI or speeding ticket. So call us and don’t just pay it.

Last year, Pembroke Pines turned on its first red-light camera. Across South Florida, other cities followed. But now critics — and lawsuits — are questioning whether the cameras pass legal muster. The cases vary, and no one has declared victory just yet. But the suits focus on one key argument: Traffic laws must be uniform across the state, and city-by-city camera laws violate that principle. The lawsuits also raise concerns about due-process rights and question why something that cities describe as a code violation seems so much like a traffic ticket. The good news for you is that a red light camera ticket does not affect your drivers license. However, red light ticket from a cop does, to the tune of 3 points and increased insurance costs. So if you get a ticket from a live person, call us and do not just pay it.

In May 2009 the Governor signed the state’s tougher seat belt law giving law enforcement permission to stop vehicles with unbelted front-seat passengers. Florida ranks 35th in the nation in seat-belt usage. Highway Safety experts estimate the law will prevent 1,733 serious injuries and save 124 lives on Florida roads each year. The former seat belt law which passed in 1986 allows law enforcement to ticket unbelted front-seat adult occupants only after the vehicle was stopped for a moving violation. Minors can be stopped and ticketed under both the new and the old law. The law allows for a $30 fine plus court and administrative costs.
